Amelia Flynn is a New York State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Amelia believes deeply in collaboration with clients to strengthen and promote self-compassion, vulnerability and courage, and evolving awareness. Her culturally humble approach recognizes that each individual is a collection of their context and culture which are welcomed and encouraged in the therapeutic environment. Amelia has extensive clinical and supervisory experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety and depression, trauma, premarital counseling, multiracial families and couples, adolescence and emerging adulthood, and parenting.
Amelia is also a Doctoral Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Antioch University New England, where she was awarded the 2018-2019 President’s Doctoral Fellowship. She received her clinical training at Hofstra University earning a Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with Distinction. There she was awarded the 2017-2018 Minority Fellowship Program Masters Fellowship from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Amelia holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston University.
